Born in Sherman Oaks, California, Jennifer Aniston spent a year of her childhood living in Greece with her family. Her Greek-American father, John Aniston, an actor known for his role on the soap opera Days of Our Lives, made his best friend Telly Savalas (TV's "Kojak") her godfather and also changed the family name from their original Greek surname "Anastassakis" to the more American sounding Aniston.
Jennifer had her first taste of acting at age 11 when she joined the Rudolf Steiner School's drama club. She was also attending Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts during 1987. In 1989 she landed her first television role, as a series regular on "Molloy" (1990). With the success of the series "Friends" (1994), Jennifer has become famous. Her marriage with Brad Pitt lasted about 5 years.
Jennifer previously dated Adam Duritz and Tate Donovan in low-profile relationships. Her relationship with Brad Pitt was very high-profile in the media. They got married on July 29, 2000 in Malibu, but separated on January 7, 2005. She officially filed for divorce on March 25, 2005 citing irreconcilable differences.
