Sandra Annette Bullock (born July 26, 1964 in Arlington, Virginia) to a German opera singer and a voice teacher. Sandra majored in drama at East Carolina University (ECU) but left ECU during the spring semester of her Senior year, only three credits short of graduating, to pursue acting career in New York City with little success. She moved to Los Angeles, California and landed a series of small roles in several independent films and, eventually, she got the lead role in the TV version of the movie Working Girl.
She had a singing talent which later came in use for her role of an aspiring country singer in The Thing Called Love (1993). Bullock's first notable movie appearance was in Demolition Man in 1993, which led to her breakthrough performance in the smash hit Speed (1994).
Bullock married motorcycle builder and Monster Garage host Jesse James on July 16, 2005. Before, she had dated Troy Aikman, Matthew McConaughey, and Ryan Gosling; and was engaged to actor Tate Donovan.
She also runs her own production company, Fortis Films.
