| April | 11 | Michael Douglas is defending himself against the comments he was credited for making on Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s romance. Douglas now insists that he was misquoted. He tells US news show Extra!: "It was a lengthy article. (It) must have been 20 hours of tape recording, so I asked to hear the tape recording and the reporter said, 'Well, I turned the tape recorder off.' I said, 'Well you had it on for the whole time, so I didn't say it.'" Even though the quote isn't his, Douglas still wrote an apology to Brad and Angelina.
| | 7 | Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are staying at a secluded Namibian beach resort, surrounded by tight security, prompting speculation their baby will be born in Africa. Namibian media reported that immigration officials confirmed the stars and five other people, including two children, arrived in Walvis Bay Monday morning on a chartered jet from Paris.
They have rented all 14 rooms and suites at the Burning Shores resort, a luxury boutique hotel on Long Beach north of Walvis Bay and near the famous dunes of the Namibian desert. A private security firm and local police officials cordoned off the area and threatened to confiscate any cameras, Namibian media reported.
| | 2 | Angelina Jolie will give birth to her and Brad Pitt's baby in a private lodge in Namibia, if the latest rumours of the Brangelina love-child are to be believed. This contradicts earlier reports that Jolie planned to have the baby in France, in accordance with her French mother Marcheline Betrand's wishes. But News of the World reports that Pitt and Jolie plan to stay in Africa for the birth -- so that Jolie can continue her humanitarian work there right to the very end. "They've fallen in love with Africa and want to help as much as they can over there," a source was quoted as saying. "Angelina has completely changed from her old partying days and she takes her UN responsibilities very seriously."

I'd like to thank FHM's readers for the huge compliment," she said. Angelina Jolie is No. 2 on the list, followed by Jessica Alba, Jessica Simpson, Keira Knightley, Halle Berry, Jenny McCarthy, Maria Sharapova, Carmen Electra and Teri Hatcher. The magazine's May issue goes on sale April 4.

| | | Angelina Jolie wants her baby to be born in France as a last tribute to her mother, Marcheline Betrand, who is dying of uterine cancer. The Sun reports that Betrand suggested Jolie maintain a "circle of life" by giving birth to her first child with Brad Pitt in France. The Sun quotes souces close to Betrand as saying the actress, who is undergoing treatment at Los Angeles' Raffles L'Ermitage Hotel in Beverly Hills, doesn't have long to live. "She and Brad have been staying in France as much as they can and Angelina will have to decide soon, before she is too far gone in her pregnancy to travel," the source added.
| | 18 | The main thing missing from the much-rumored wedding between Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie was the bride and groom. Still, officials held out hope that the couple would show up this weekend to tie the knot in this Lake Como retreat, a favorite getaway for the rich and famous. Cernobbio Mayor Simona Saladini said she was told Saturday to remain on standby for possible official functions into the evening. Saladini also said police in the area were placed on alert and a private firm had increased security around a villa owned by George Clooney.
| | 17 | Rumors that Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt could marry on the shores of Lake Como this weekend have transformed even quiet Italian villagers into star-struck gossip fans. The weeks-long speculation centers on the lakeside villa of Pitt's friend and fellow actor George Clooney, where the couple were expected to arrive on Thursday or Friday, and the nearby luxury hotel of Villa d'Este, once a romantic hideaway for stars such as Ava Gardner and Frank Sinatra. Pitt and Jolie have not announced any wedding plans. Little action was evident at the Clooney's villa at Laglio. Clooney's spokesman said that Clooney would be in New York this weekend working on a new film and would not be in Lake Como. Small groups of people with notebooks and television cameras trotted along the country lanes, while some journalists cruised the lake on motorboats to get a better view of Clooney's summer home.
| | 16 | Speculation spread once again that Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie would wed on these Italian shores -- perhaps this weekend. George Clooney is a friend of the Hollywood couple and his lakefront villa in the town of Laglio is cited in Italian news reports as a credible location for such a ceremony. Saturday has been mentioned as a possible date. However, Clooney's press representative, Stan Rosenfield, told The Associated Press: "Rumors are rumors." Pitt's representative declined to comment. A spokesman for Cernobbio city hall said there was no official indication of an upcoming ceremony.

He also took swipes at actresses Renee Zellweger and Julia Roberts: "I mean, don't ask me what happened with Renee Zellweger. I don't know how you get married for four months. And Julia with Lyle." As for his marriage to actress Catherine Zeta-Jones, Douglas says he's "been fortunate. You learn to respect something of value and nurture it and treat it well."
