Rose McGowan (born September 5, 1973, Florence, Italy) is an American actress. Born to a French mother and an Irish father who were members of the Children of God. She moved to the USA at age 9 and began modeling. Her first role was won at the age of 19 as Nora in Encino Man. She later ran away to Los Angeles, where she met Gregg Araki, The Doom Generation (1995) director, and he cast her in the film. McGowan was cast as Tatum in the hit horror film Scream. Soon she was appearing everywhere in independent films like Southie, Going All the Way, Lewis & Clark & George, and Phantoms by Dean Koontz. McGowan ended her two year engagement with rock star Marylin Manson. Currently she can be seen on the television series Charmed. She will soon portray Ann-Margret in Elvis, a Mini-series filming in 2005 for CBS about the life of Elvis Presley.
