William Bradley Pitt, widely known as Brad Pitt (born December 18, 1963), was born in Shawnee, Oklahoma to strictly Baptist parents; and raised in Springfield, Missouri. In high school, he was involved in student government, sports, debating, and musicals. He attended the University of Missouri School of Journalism where he was a member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity. He almost graduated with a journalism degree, before pursuing his luck in Hollywood.
Career: Acting
In 1991, Pitt got his big break in "Thelma & Louise" as J.D., Thelma (Geena Davis)'s one-night stand who gives her tips on robbing 7-11 stores. His first starring role in a feature film was in "The Dark Side of the Sun" (1997). Afterwards, he played in several box office movies such as "Twelve Monkeys" (1995), "Seven Years in Tibet" (1997), "Meet Joe Black" (1998), "Fight Club" (1999), "Ocean's Eleven" (2001), "Sinbad: Legend of the Seven Seas" (2003), "Ocean's 12" (2004) and "Troy" (2004). He was nominated for an Academy Award as Best Supporting Actor for "Twelve Monkeys" (1995).
Relationships
Before he married actress Jennifer Aniston on July 29, 2000 (and divorced later on March 25, 2005), he was engaged to Gwyneth Paltrow. The couple split in June 1997.
After separation from Aniston, Pitt began dating Jolie, though initially the two insisted they were just friends. There has been speculation that Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie had an affair on the set of Mr. and Mrs. Smith but Pitt and Jolie deny having an affair while he was still married to Aniston.
On December 2, 2005, it was announced that Pitt was seeking to legally adopt Angelina Jolie's two children, Maddox and Zahara, and to have the childrens' surnames legally changed to Jolie-Pitt. On January 19, 2006, a judge in California approved this request. On January 11, 2006, Pitt and Jolie's representatives confirmed that Jolie is pregnant with Pitt's child.
