| March | 13 | The Harry Potter films were honored for their outstanding contribution to the British film industry at the Sony Ericsson Empire Awards. Daniel Radcliffe, 16, who plays the schoolboy wizard, was at the ceremony to accept the Empire Outstanding Contribution Award on behalf of the makers and stars of the blockbuster Potter films. The Empire Awards are the only film prizes to be voted for by the British public.
