Late night television is filled with infomercials, which we've all become used to. And, in the theaters, we've reluctantly come to expect pre-show "entertainment" of similar commercials masquerading as something more than merely ads. But we're not used to the movie's themselves becoming little more than infomercials. Sure, we're no longer surprised by extensive use of product placement, but we expect our movies to have actors in stories we care about, not just people there to promote something.
